small marine iguanas that live in the galapagos islands can sprint faster than large iguanas. currently, the only predators of marine iguanas are hawks, which are able to catch iguanas regardless of their size. if new predators (for example, cats) that preferentially catch and eat slower iguanas are introduced to the island, iguana body size is likely to in the absence of other factors; the iguanas would then be under selection.
