You attend a nearby college and have a great idea for a new business invention, "time saver," a
digital software program that puts back time into your busy day. Your invention will
revolutionize the market and make you rich. Your idea became a college project, which you
showed to your current teacher.
On Spring break, you find out your professor stole your idea and submitted the software program
for a U.S. Patent Examination, the first step to achieve a Patent, for the invention. You first
contact an attorney, who advises you to "sue the heck out of the professor," and to "take him for
everything he’s got."
You are not an aggressive person and want to know if there is a less litigious way to resolve the
situation, without a lawsuit.
From the ADR Counselor viewpoint, how would they advise you?
Would your relationship with your teacher matter in how the outcome would result. What role should your
Christian faith play in this action?
