Mr. Wilson presented the ER with nausea, vomiting, generalized edema, headache, confusion, polydipsia, muscle twitching, and weakness. Vital signs recorder blood pressure of 160/110, rapid respirations and HR of 55 bpm. A Ct and MRI were both performed but showed no cranial abnormalities. Urinalysis showed increased osmolarity. Blood testing revealed decreased osmolarity, a sodium level of 110 mEq/L (normal 135-145) elevated ADH and glucose of 87 mg/dl (normal 80-120). Patient history includes treatment for anxiety with ability because of an irritating little boy named Dennis who lives next door. The doctor after reviewing all of the facts presented in his chart, immediately requested a chest x-ray to rule out:
1) Bronchogenic tumor of the lungs
2) Emphysema
3) Polycystic kidney disease
4) Cor pulmonate
