KOBE’S MOM

[Kobe stands in the middle of his bedroom, which he just finished cleaning. Kobe’s Mom enters room, a doubtful look on her face.]

KOBE: (smiling) So, what’d I tell you, pretty clean, huh?

KOBE’S MOM: (sighs) Well, I guess if I ignore the clothes sticking out from under the bed. . .

[Kobe becomes angry, makes a growling sound.]

KOBE’S MOM: (ignores Kobe) . . . and all of the empty hangers on the closet floor that should be holding the clothes that you stuffed under the bed. . .

KOBE: (trying to annoy Mom, begins yelling) What do I have to do to get you to. . .

KOBE’S MOM: (continues to ignore Kobe) . . . I’d say you are about half-way done.

[Angry, Kobe pushes a large pile of books off his desk.]

KOBE’S MOM: (calm) Well, in addition to all of the other stuff, now you have to pick up those books, too, and, seeing as you will spend the rest of the day in here as punishment for not controlling yourself, you’ll have plenty of time to get it all done. (turns and walks out of the room)

KOBE: (whines) Sorry, Mom, I promise I won’t ever do that again!
Question: Kobe can be best described as
a victim, because his mother is very strict and she treats him unfairly.
childish, because he throws a fit and knocks things over on purpose.
clever, because he knows the best way to get a reaction from his mom.
thoughtful, because he apologizes to his mom as she leaves his room.
