A. He was a warrior Chief. He negotiated with the new United States after the victory of the Revolutionary War. He secured land for his people in New York, however, most of his people were forced into Canada following the Treaty of Paris 1783.


B. A famous Shawnee warrior chief who worked to organize a confederacy of Native American tribes. He worked to stop native massacres under his leadership. His Confederacy joined the British during the war of 1812.


C. He was Tecumseh's brother. He urged the native people to reject the ways of the white man.




D. He was an important Shawnee War Chief and a major leader during the Northwest Indian War. He signed the Treaty of Greenville with the United States.






E. A battle led by the Prophet, against William Henry Harrison, in 1811. The Shawnee led a surprise attack on Harrison and his soldiers, which backfired and resulted in a major defeat for the Shawnee.


F. He was an American military officer and later, politician. He was appointed the Secretary of the Northwest territory and later the governor of Indiana territory. He served under General Anthony Wayne at the Battle of fallen Timbers and was a signatory at the Treaty of Greenville.


G. An Algonquian speaking Native American tribe that had originated in the Tennessee region but had various groups that lived in what would become Tennessee, South Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania.


H. An Iroquois speaking Native American tribe that had been forced west following the French and Indian War. They joined the Native American confederacies that were influential during the Northwest Indian War and later the War of 1812.


I. The final battle of the Northwest Indian War led by US General Anthony Wayne. The defeat of the Native Confederacy forced the Native Americans to sign the Greenville Treaty and it opened up 2/3 of the Ohio country to settlement.
