Values are things that we find important, but core values are a unique set of values that determine our principles and standards. For example, time management, goal setting, and effective listening skills are things you may value or find important. These are different than core values, or 4-10 values that guide our life standards and principles. When applying for a job, or joining a community, it is important to consider their core values and reflect on how they match your own core values. Joining a company or community with misaligned values can be problematic in small and big ways.

In 50 words or more, reflect on whether or not your core values align and if joining that company or community would be a positive experience for you. If it would not be a positive experience, describe what you would do.
