If Ford does not pardon Nixon, there will continue to be drama, investigation, and news reports focusing on the Watergate case instead of the future of the country. Continually focusing on this case will only continue to hurt the legacy of the presidency.
Ford should not pardon Nixon.
- Even though Nixon was president, he is an American citizen just like everyone else. Nixon should have to go through the legal process just like every other American citizen. If America is truly a nation of equality, Ford should allow the courts to take care of Nixon's case and give him an appropriate punishment.
