Hello!
Jerome is not making a valid inference.
Why?
Note that he only asked 28 students from his own class, not a random sample of students from his entire school. Granted, a lot of students may like comedy TV shows, this does not mean that Jerome can correctly assume that exactly 70% of the entire school will like comedy shows. Taking a random sample of many students from different classes can give Jerome a more accurate assumption.
The correct answer is "No, it is not a valid inference because his classmates do not make up a random sample of the students in the school"
