Why did Soviets follow Stalin so eagerly despite his atrocities?

The answer is A, because B doesn't make sense because their government was socialist, not C because Germany wanted to make that treaty because they were afraid they would get destroyed right away by the soviets and the Germans weren't ready, not D for sure.

Despite the atrocities, the Soviet Union under Stalin became the second largest economy in the world after World War II, won great victories against Nazi Germany and developed nuclear technology in a fairly short space of time. Stalin led the country's post-war reconstruction projects and promoted the development of space technology. Many young people saw this with good eyes and made them believe that Stalin was a great leader and that he deserved to be honored.
