Given each of the following areas, what would be the radius of each circle? a. A = 530.66 m2 b. A = 907.46 sq. ft. c. A = 379.94 sq. mi. d. A = 1962.5 cm2

Respuesta :

Area for a circle is [tex]A= \pi r^2[/tex].  We will fill in each area and then solve for the radius.  [tex]530.66m^2= \pi r^2[/tex] and [tex] \frac{530.66m^2}{3.14}=r^2 [/tex].  ∴[tex]169=r^2[/tex] and r = 13.  For b, [tex]907.46ft^2= \pi r^2[/tex] and [tex] \frac{907.46ft^2}{3.14}=r^2 [/tex].  [tex]289=r^2[/tex], ∴ r = 17.  For c, [tex]379.94mi^2= \pi r^2[/tex], and [tex] \frac{379.94mi^2}{3.14}=r^2 [/tex].  ∴, [tex]121=r^2[/tex] and r = 11.  For d, [tex]1962.5cm^2= \pi r^2[/tex], and [tex] \frac{1962.5cm^2}{3.14}=r^2 [/tex].  ∴, [tex]625=r^2[/tex] so r = 25.  And there you have it!

For circles with an area of 530.66m², 907.46 ft², 379.94 mi² and 1962.5cm²,  their radius is 13m, 17ft, 11 mi and 25cm respectively.

What is Circle?

A circle is simply a two-demensional shape consisting of all points in a plane that are at a given distance from a given point which is the centre.

The area of a circle is expressed as;

A = πr²

Where r is the radius and π is constant pi ( π = 3.14 )

a)

For a circle with an area of  530.66m²

The radius will be;

A = πr²

530.66m² = 3.14 × r²

r² = 530.66m² / 3.14

r² = 169m²

r = √169m²

r = 13m

b)

For a circle with an area of 907.46 ft²

The radius will be;

A = πr²

907.46 ft² = 3.14 × r²

r² = 907.46 ft² / 3.14

r² = 289ft²

r = √289ft²

r = 17ft

c)

For a circle with an area of 379.94 mi²

The radius will be;

A = πr²

379.94 mi² = 3.14 × r²

r² = 379.94 mi² / 3.14

r² = 121mi²

r = √121mi²

r = 11 mi

d)

For a circle with an area of 1962.5cm²

The radius will be;

A = πr²

1962.5cm² = 3.14 × r²

r² = 1962.5cm² / 3.14

r² = 625cm²

r = √625cm²

r = 25cm

Hence, for circle with an area of  530.66m²,  907.46 ft², 379.94 mi² and 1962.5cm²,  their radius is 13m, 17ft, 11 mi and 25cm respectively.
