The conservation tactic that can decrease the amount of pollution entering the air when coal is burn is installing scrubbers in power plants. These scrubbers are installed to reduce sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions from the coal-burning process. These power plants are the largest human-caused source of sulfur dioxide, a pollutant gas that contributes to the production of acid rain and causes remarkable health problems.
