The beauty of nature can't compensate for the existence of death, best describes one of the themes in "Spring" by Edna St. Vincent Millay. The poet is disgusted by the arrival of spring. Citizens have forgotten about the war on the arrival of spring. According to Millay, with the blooming of flowers, warm sunset and cold breeze don’t compensate for the war which has caused so many deaths. Millay believes that it’s pointless of such nice weather when there is no one to admire the beauty.
