Pope Urban II calls for the primary campaign since in spite of the fact that the foremost objective of the Campaigns was to require control of Jerusalem missing from the Muslims, there were various reasons why European knights and others were willing to travel and fight a war in a exterior land. Christians frequently made ventures to the beginning of their religion, but when the Seljuk Turks took control of Jerusalem, Christians were banished from the Holy City. Urban passed away in 1099, two weeks after the drop of Jerusalem but some time recently news of the Christian triumph made it back to Europe.
