Respuesta :
2 WAYS
First Method
To find a percentage for a fraction, the first step is to divide the numerator by the denominator. Numerator is the number on the top, while the denominator is the one at the bottom. In this fraction, the numerator is 3 and the denominator is 4. Divide 3 by 4
[tex] 3 \div 4 = 0.75 [/tex]
You have your answer as a decimal. To convert it into a percent, move the decimal point 2 places to the right and add a percent sign. First move the decimal point 2 places to the right.
[tex] 0.75 \rightarrow 75 [/tex]
Now add the percent sign:
[tex] 75 \rightarrow 75 \% [/tex]
[tex] \frac{3}{4} [/tex] as a percentage is 75%
Second Method
A percent is out of 100. Your fraction is [tex] \frac{3}{4} [/tex] and you want to make it as a percent. Since percents are out of 100, you can just multiply the fraction by 100 and add the percent sign.
When you're multiplying fractions by a whole number, the denominator for the whole number is 1. Set up your equation:
[tex] \frac{3}{4} \times \frac{100}{1} [/tex]
You have to multiply the numerators(top number) and multiply the denominators(bottom number) and divide the numerator by the denominator.
Multiply:
[tex] \frac{3}{4} \times \frac{100}{1} = \frac{300}{4} = 75 [/tex]
Add the percent sign:
[tex] 75 \rightarrow 75 \% [/tex]
[tex] \frac{3}{4} [/tex] as a percentage is 75%.
- Whichever method you do, the answer is always the same.
