The common multiple of lowest degree of two or more polynomials.
To make the 11/21 and 5/9 so that they have common denominator we have to find the LCM.
LCM of (21, 9) = 63
Now, 11/21 = (11*3)/(21*3)
= 33/63
and, 5/9= (5*7)/(9*7)
= 35/63
So, [tex]\frac{11}{21} =\frac{33}{63}[/tex] and [tex]\frac{5}{9} = \frac{35}{63}[/tex]
