A textbook store sold a combined total of 423 math and psychology textbooks in a week. The number of math textbooks sold was 45 more than the number of psychology textbooks sold. How many textbooks of each type were sold?

[tex]423 = p + p + 45[/tex]
[tex]423 = 2p + 45[/tex]
[tex]423 - 45 = 2p[/tex]
[tex]p = 378 \div 2[/tex]
p represent psychology books
if p is 189
then math books which is x is
[tex]x = 189 + 45[/tex]
[tex]x = 234[/tex]
