Not all energy an organism takes in is transferred to the next organism because the organisms uses most of the energy it takes in to sustain their own life the energy cannot be transferred because it cannot be changed from one form to another Energy is static Energy has been dispersed to the environment.

Only 10% of the total energy is transferred to another level so all the energy present in the organism is not transferred to another organism.

Rest of the energy is utilized by the organism itself to perform the various metabolic processes of the body.
