If the radio waves transmitted by a radio station have a frequency of 82.5 mhz, what is the wavelength of the waves, in meters?

Respuesta :

We know that radio waves are electromagnetic waves and all the electromagnetic waves travel with speed [tex]3 \times 10^8 m/s[/tex].

The relation between frequency, speed and wavelength is

[tex]\lambda =\frac{c}{\nu }[/tex].

Here, [tex]\lambda[/tex] is wavelength, c is speed of light and its value of [tex]3 \times 10^8 m/s[/tex] and  [tex]\nu[/tex] is frequency and its value of 82.5 MHz.

Substituting these values in above relation we get

[tex]\lambda =\frac{3 \times 10^8 \ m/s}{82.5 \times 10^6 \ Hz } = 0.0363 \times 10^2 \ m = 3.63 \ m[/tex].
