Eukaryotic cells have:
1. A membrane bound nucleus where the genetic material is organized
2. complex cells such as chloroplasts, endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria, etc).
3. share some characteristics with prokaryotic cells such as has a plasma membrane, cytoplasm, and ribosomes.
So, in conclusion eukaryotic cells are defined by the presence of a nucleus surrounded by a complex nuclear membrane containing membrane-bound organelles in the cytoplasm.
