Confucian teachings promoted the following ideas, or “Li” or “proper way”, in society to ensure good interactions between social beings:
Filial Piety- respect for ones parents/elders/ancestors
Humanness- basic respect for human life, family, and society
Ritual Consciousness- moral respect for the proper way of doing things
