Good Morning, I hope you are having a nice day, Cry, the Beloved Country is a beautiful book, I do hope you enjoyed reading it.
Part 1 is Definitely C. The loss of traditional values, as seen in this passage, leads to a life of crime.
Part 2 is more tricky for me personally, so I will eliminate some answers. D is not an answer, and A is not an answer. Those two share themes that are not associated with loss of traditional values. From these two, we wee B. and C. The answer being C. Absalom leaves his village which is 'symbolic' for his traditional values, and moves to the city which is 'corrupt'. Therefor, Absalom loses his values which leads him to crime.
So, we can say that the answers are are C (loss of traditional Values...) and C (Absalom leaves his village...)
Have a beautiful day, and study hard for those upcoming Standardized Tests.
The theme which is revealed in this excerpt is:
- C. The loss of traditional values can be disastrous to a society
The statement which best explains how the theme identified in Part A develops over the course of the text is:
- C. Absalom leaves his village only to be corrupted by the amoral and divided city, which leads him into a life of crime that costs him and another man their lives.
