As we know that protons have a positive electrical charge and electrons have negative charge. Like charges repel, unlike charges attract. Two electrons will tend to repel each other because both have a negative electrical charge.The attraction or repulsion acts along the line between the two charges and they are given by Coulomb's law. The size of the force varies inversely as the square of the distance between the two charges.
