Similarities:
- Both were of a result of unfair treatment such as high and unfair taxes. (America: taxes on all items, specifically tea. Then 3rd estate had highest tax)
-both were influenced by enlightenment ideals

Differences:
-America wanted to declare independence from Great Britain while France wanted to change the government
-America wanted to become a nation on its own and have some sort of government that will be more efficient than GB. France wanted to improve the current government.
