In this exercise, we have to use the concept of Demonstrative Adjectives to fill each blank. The demonstrative adjectives, such as este, ese and aquel demonstrate a quality about the noun they modify. So, in this case that quality is the location in respect to the speaker or the listener. Thus, we have the following Questions:
No me gusta esta falda. Prefiero ésa.
That one translates as ésa and indicates that the skirt (falda) is further from the speaker but they can be close to the listener.
Voy a comprar pantalones verdes.
Esos means these and indicates that the pants (pantalones) is further from the speaker but they can be close to the listener.
¿Dónde compraste ese abrigo?
Ese means that and indicates that the coat (abrigo) is further from the speaker but they can be close to the listener.
¿Viste a aquellas chicas?
Those over there means aquellas and indicates that the the girls are far away from both the speaker and the listener.
Tú compras esa camisa y yo compro ésta
Ésta means this one and indicates that the Shirt is near to the speaker.
¿Cuáles prefieres, los zapatos marrones o aquellos negros?
Those over there means aquellos and indicates that the the shoes are far away from both the speaker and the listener.
Carlos me compró aquel sombrero, pero prefiero usar éste.
Éste means this one. Same case as Question 5
¿Cuánto cuesta esta camisa azul con rayas rojas?
Esta means this. Same case as question 5.
¿Vas a gastar dinero en aquellas botas rojas?
Same as Question 4
¡Ricardo, esos calcetines no hacen juego! Ponte éstos.
Esos means those. Same case as Question 2
