If they lower the price by 6%, that means she would pay 94% of the original amount ( 100% - 6% = 94%)

Multiply the amount she paid by 94%:

20.39 x 0.94 = 19.17

She would pay $19.17 total.

Now divide that by the number of gallons bought:

19.17 / 6.6 = $2.90 per gallon ( Rounded to the nearest cent).
