Answer:
Explanation:
Part 1:
Word equation:
The presentation or expression of a chemical reaction in words i.e. by using simple words and sentences instead of formulas and equation and it doesn’t include numbers and symbols of elements.
For example
The chemical reaction
2H₂(g) + O₂(g) → 2H₂O(g)
or
Word Equation
Hydrogen gas + Oxygen gas -------------> Steam (water)
According to word equation the above equations will be represented as
Hydrogen gas combines with oxygen gas and produces water Or water formed by the reaction of hydrogen gas with oxygen.
Part 2:
Skeletal equation :
It is a symbolic representation of chemical reaction but this type of equation gives us information about the reactant and product but not give the information about the exact number of reactant and product on each side of the equation.
It is simple representation of symbols of atoms of reactant and product in a chemical equation
Example:
Ca + O₂ ------------> CaO
This reaction only shows the symbols of the reactant and products but not its exact number.
It shows that only calcium and oxygen involve in the reaction to form calcium oxide and not show that how many atoms of calcium combine with how many molecules of oxygen to form how many formulae units of calcium oxide.
Part 3:
Balanced chemical equation:
Law of conservation of Mass:
The mass neither can be created or destroyed but can be converted from one form to other.
A balanced chemical equation should obey law of conservation of mass. The number of reactant atoms should be equal to the number of the product atoms.
So the balanced chemical equation needs to be balanced i.e. the number of the atoms of the reactant and product equal on each side of equation.
Example:
Unbalanced Equation:
CO₂ + H₂O----------- C₆H₁₂O₆ +O₂
On Reactant side:
C=1
O=3
H2
On product side
C=6
H=12
O=8
so the number of different atoms of the reactant is not equal to the number of different atoms of product.
Balanced Chemical Equation:
6CO₂ + 6H₂O----------> C₆H₁₂O₆ + 6O₂
Number of atoms on Reactant side:
C=6
O=18
H=12
Number of atoms on product side
C=6
O=18
O=12
So it showed it have equal number of atoms on each side of the arrow.
Part 4:
if sodium sulphate and magnesium phosphite are combined:
Formula Unit of sodium sulphate = Na₂SO₄
Formula Unit of Magnesium sulphite = Mg(SO₃)₂
it is a kind of displacement reaction:
the Reaction is given below
Na₂SO₄ + Mg(SO₃)₂ -------------> 2NaSO₃ +MgSO₄
