Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

(a). Here, the frequency and the percent frequency of complaints by industry will be generated, by calculating the relative frequency of the data,

thus;

Relative frequency of a class = Frequency of the class / number of observations

  • the Relative Frequency for Cable = 44/200 × 100 = 22
  • the Relative Frequency for Car = 42/200 × 100 = 21
  • the Relative Frequency for Bank = 26/200 × 100 = 13
  • the Relative Frequency for Cell = 60/200 × 100 = 30
  • the Relative Frequency for collection = 28/200 × 100 = 14

the frequency table showing the percent frequency is shown in the image below.

(b). To construct a bar chart of the percent frequency distribution calculated above, several step are taken;

  • Click the Graph menu
  • Select Bar Chart.
  • A dialog box pops open, then choose Bar represent: Counts of unique values
  • Then select "Simple" and click OK, a dialog box will appear as shown in the second image uploaded.
  • When the Bar Chart-Counts of unique values, Simple dialog box opens, enter C 1 in the Categorical variables box, then click the Chart Options tab.
  • When this Chart option appears, select the "Show Y as Percent" under Percent and Accumulate. Click Ok
  • When you return to the Bar Chart-Counts of unique values, simple dialog box, click OK., a generated output diagram comes up. The diagram is shown in the 3rd image uploaded below.

(c). From the 3rd uploaded image, we can see in the diagram that the Cell industry has the highest number of complaints.

(d). From the percent frequency distribution developed in part (a), we can see that;

  • cellular phone providers had the highest number of complaints i.e. 30%;
  • cable and satellite television companies showed 22%,
  • new car dealerships had the medium number of complaints with 21%,
  • collection agencies with 14% and banks 13% showed the lowest number of complaints.

cheers, i hope this helped...
