his grand nephew

The act III of Julius Caesar is where the character who gives name to the play is killed by the conspirators including Brutus and it is known that his adopted son is the appointed heir.

Octavius is his name and he had been travelling abroad and returns after Caesar´s death.

During the act III is where the plan of killing Caesar is commited by the conspirators and after they performed the murder they proclame the triumph of liberty. Antony, a Caesar´s friend who fears to be murdered also send his servants to talked with Brutus in order to make a peace allegiance and to be forgiven for his past.

Antony convinced the conspirators with Brutus in the head that he would be an ally and help them to calm the people. He asked for permission to bring the body to the Forum and spoke a funeral oration. Brutus let him to do that in order to be seen by the people as magnanimous. The real plan of Antony, spoke by him when the rest of the people had left the stage, is to sublebate the people against those who have killed Caesar. Soon after that the Octavius´s servants enter, see the corpse on the floor and receive the order to kept Octavious out of the city of Rome because it would be dangerous.

Octavious disobey that order and joins Antony to fight against Cassius and Brutus. He emerges as an authorative figure paving the way for his eventual seizure of the reins of Roman governments.
