The term Manifest Destiny is a belief or doctrine, held chiefly in the middle and latter part of the 19th century , that it was the destiny of the US to expand its territory over the whole North America and to enhance its political, social and economic influences.
In short, it means the idea that America would be the most powerful country in the world.
