After going there he saw a murder and his help his needed. Holmes finds the evidence about the death. when Watson and Holmes are on a walk, they saw Dr.Leon Sterndale. He says about the another death of Mortimer. Holmes was shocked to hear that because previous dead person was Mortimer's sister and now he is also dead. So Sherlock Homes went to Mortimer's house.
When he is examining in Mortimer's room he finds lamp burning and ashes forms the powder. The powder is seemed to be poisoner. He has found that Mortimer was the one who poisoned her sibling, but it killed himself.
