Briefly discuss what mutations are. Then discuss the two main types of mutations and some common ways these mutations can happen.

Respuesta :

In biology, a mutation is an alteration in the nucleotide sequence of the genome of an organism, virus, or extrachromosomal DNA. Viral genomes can be of either DNA or RNA.

Examples: Sickle-cell anemia, because of substitution mutation which is a type of point mutation.

Cystic fibrosis, because of deletion mutation which is also a type of point mutation.

Opitz-Kaveggia syndrome, because of inversion mutation which is a type of chromosomal mutation.
