First, the latitudes are just angles. So you first take the difference of the angles (40.5-32.5=8 degrees).
Remember that the distance around a circle is distance= (angle in radians) • ( radius). You have an angle (8 degrees), but you must convert to radians first. If you don’t know how to convert you can google the formula. I converted it in the picture I attached.
After you have an angle in radians, you multiply times the radius of the earth ( 3960 miles). This value is your distance in miles.
Answer: 552.920 miles.
