Question- Why didn’t the plants and animals in the biodome have enough energy storage molecules?

Answer- Producers make all of the energy storage molecules for an ecosystem through the process of photosynthesis, using carbon dioxide from abiotic matter. The organisms in the biodome did not have enough energy storage molecules because there was not enough carbon in abiotic matter.

There are different reasons for storing energy. The reason why the plants and animals in the biodome have enough energy storage molecules is because there was not enough carbon in abiotic matter.

  • Producers are known to create all of the energy storage molecules needed in an ecosystem via photosynthesis. In this process, carbon dioxide is used from abiotic matter.

Ecosystems is known to have different amounts of energy storage molecules.  Note that When there is more carbon in abiotic matter, there will be more carbon is available to producers for creating energy storage molecules.

But when there is less carbon in abiotic matter, less carbon is is said to be available for producers creating energy storage molecules.
