The Soviet Union and United States of America were in constant argument and often went very close to war. In fact on October 27 1961 the argument caused the United States to send ten M-48 tanks to the border. The Soviet Leader was enraged at the bold action sending fifteen T-55 Heavy Tanks to the border. For 16 hours the tanks were in a standoff. They were so close troops of each side could see the Soviet and American flags waving on the frontal tanks.
