- Back in the days of exclusively newspaper, news had to be important. An obituary, an event, something relevant to the world with the most minute thing being an ad or three. Now in the days where every headline click gives news media a bit of money, news can be whatever it pleases as long as it's eye catching. This subtracts from the point of real news, education, in favor of quicker bucks.
- A positive to modern news is it's accessibility. Anyone with a phone, which is the majority of the population, can freely view it. Save for a few communist countries like Russia and China, news is no longer limited to those who can afford it.
- There is a downside to this accessibility however, as it makes people more liable to misinformation if they rely on the news for information instead of doing their independent research. A majority of people are codependent on the news, so this is a problem that can easily be fixed if research is further implemented into the standard education system.
