The results may not allow normal functioning of the organnism
the autonomic division of the nervous system controls homeostasis in the body. it regulates things such as blood pressure, heart rate, etc. when this is not functioning properly, other systems, including the cardiovascular system, will grow weaker, and they can eventually fail. i’d say the sympathetic nervous system would probably come into action, bringing upon the fight-or-flight response, resulting in increased heart rate, respiration, and decreased digestive abilities. when one organ system fails, all others are in danger of failing as well. especially the nervous system, because when the brain is dead, all other organ systems will die too, even if the patient is on life support.
