First consider the slope of this line. If two points that lie on this line are ( 0, 3 ) - ( which is supposedly the y - intercept ), and ( 2, 4 ) take that change in y / change in x to derive the slope;

[tex]( 0, 3 ), ( 2, 4 )\\\\\\Slope = 3 - 4 / 0 - 2,\\Slope = - 1 / - 2\\Slope = 1 / 2 \\\\Slope = 0.5[/tex]

I did mention earlier that the y - intercept was found to be 3. If that is so, taking the equation in point - slope form, we can tell the equation of the line through the following steps;

[tex]y = mx + b,\\m = slope, \\b = y - intercept\\\\Equation, y = 0.5x + 3[/tex]
