Respuesta :
Increasing the number of gas particles cause the pressure of a gas to increase.
Effect of increase in the number of particles on pressure
The pressure produce due to the collisions of the particles with the container. If the average kinetic energy of the particles (temperature) is constant, the average force per particle will also remains same.
With more particles there will be more collisions and so a greater pressure.
The number of particles is directly proportional to pressure, if the volume and the temperature is taken constant.
Effect of temperature on pressure
K.E = (2/3) RT
With the increase in temperature, the average kinetic energy also increases as the velocity of the gas particles hitting the walls of the container is also increases. The force which is exerted by the particles per unit of area on the container is the pressure, so as we increase the temperature the pressure also increase. Pressure is directly proportional to temperature, if the number of particles and the volume of the container are remains constant.
Thus, we concluded that the pressure of gas increases with the increase in the number of gas particles.
