there is no diagram but i believe the answer plus be metaphase! a quick way to remember that is if they are lined in the middle, it’s metaphase!

When all of the chromosomes of a dividing cell are lined up at the center of the cell, the phase of mitosis is called metaphase.

Mitosis has 4 main stages:

  1. Prophase
  2. Metaphase
  3. Anaphase
  4. Telophase

The chromatin materials condense and become visible as chromosomes under the microscope during prophase after the disappearance of the nuclear membrane.

The chromosomes line up at the equator of the center of the cell and each chromosome is engaged by the spindle fiber at the metaphase.

The spindle fibers start contracting to pull sister chromatids of each chromosome apart towards opposing poles during the anaphase.

Further contraction of the spindle fibers migrates sister chromatids to opposite poles. Chromosomes at each pole decondense and the nuclear membrane reappears around each. All these happen at the telophase.
