Competition for resources within an elk herd living in a national park can become severe due to high population density.
What is population?
Population is a measurement which gives idea about the number of people will live in per unit area.
As in the question it is mention that a group living in a national park can become severe day by day and reason behind this is that resources which are available for survival is less available to an elk herd as compared to individuals because in an herd that all must be divided.
- Large habitat is not the reason it is a good option for them.
- Elevated disease may be the reason but it is not connected to resources.
- Increased predation is also not the reason because it reflects the population not the resources.
Hence high population density will be the reason.
