Problem-solving is when a problem is identified and the subsequent solving of such problems. There are different steps in the problem-solving process that one can or must use to get a solution.
- The first step is to identify the problem, which will clarify what the issue is and how it can be dealt with.
- Second is the analysis of that problem by gathering the information about that problem. This includes the certain filtering of information that pertains to the problem. Unnecessary information is then removed from the equation.
- This is done by asking the five W's namely the "who, what, where, when, and why" of the problem.
- The third step included the brainstorming session, trying to come to a possible solution.
- This is followed by the selection of the plan to solve the problem.
- The last two steps are the implementation of the chosen action/plan, which is then followed by the monitoring of that implementation whether it is successful or not.
Every problem will always, most often, have a solution that is arrived at by the use of a certain problem-solving processes. And in such a process, the second step is to analyze the identified problem which will then be followed by the selection of any probable solution to help eliminate the problem.
