Hillary uses first person perspective in his story "The Final Assault". This describes things the way he wants us to see them, for instance his partner, Tenzing  might have described some of the situations differently. I think that Edmund Hillary's purpose for writing this story was to inform readers what it was like for the first mountain climbers to reach the peak of Mt. Everest.
