Multiple deaths of black mean, women, and children at the hands of policemen instilled fear within African Americans. The killing of George Floyd sparked a rebellion amongst African Americans, and propelled the Black Lives Matter Movement. The African American population felt threatened and scared. Floyd's murder caused a chain reaction, resulting in looting, violent riots, and the prosecution of the police officer that murdered Floyd.

The attempted efforts of White Supremacists (mainly Trump Supporters) to overturn the presidential 2020 elections were based on unfounded fears.
