It's been a whole week since I joined the new school, and it's not as bad as I thought it would be. No one has bullied me for being the new kid, and the teacher isn't so scary. Mr. Denton has a unique way of teaching that my old teachers never used. He often pitches us the questions and waits for us come up with the answer. He even holds fun class debates—the kind where half the class argues with the other half about an issue. At the same time, he seems very strict when it comes to completing assignments.
I made a couple of friends in my first week too. There is Gina, whose father works at the same company as my father. She's really smart and has promised to help me with my studies. Then there's Max and Charlie. They live a couple of blocks from my place. Max is into soccer, just like me, but he only follows European football. Charlie and I don't talk a lot. I only know him because he hangs out with Max all the time. But I do know that he loves watching horror movies. Maybe I'll show him my collection when he comes over.
