Fossils do tell a lot about Earth's past landscape. Age of rocks , species of animal in the past era, etc. But there are various aspects that they fail to answer. While fossils reveal what ancient living things looked like, they keep us guessing about their color, sounds, and most of their behavior. Fossils are very rare.The Fossil record is like a big jigsaw puzzle, with most of the pieces missing. Many species probably left no fossils at all.

Fossils cannot tell us about the way of living of the living beings in the past some centuries ago. It also fails to identify that what were the characteristics of the species of animals whose fossils have been found.

Fossils have also failed to give a brief information about the human beings lives centuries ago as the human were either buried under coffins or they were cremated by the families since ages.

Fossils are a layer formed due to the remains of animals over which the rocks have been formed some thousands of years ago and their species. However, it was limited to fewer species only.

Maybe because many species of animals did not form fossils and hence as a result only a few species could be found by the study of fossils.

The only learned thing from fossils was their ability to produce fuels and natural gas which is in vast consumption by the world today and its applications in various sectors of humanities.

Hence, fossils did not give a detailed idea about the lives during the ancient world as some of the species like humans failed to form their fossils.
