The Hobbit
How would you write the following lines in a simpler way,how would you paraphrase it and explain what it means?

"He has tonight earned an eminent place in the roll of the benefactor of our town; and he is worthy of many imperishable songs...But why, O People... why do I get all your blame? For what fault am i to be deposed? Who aroused the dragon from his slumber, I might ask? Who obstained of us rich gifts and ample help, and led us to believe that old songs could come true? What sort of gold have they sent down the river to reward us? Dragon-fire and ruin! From whom should we claim the recompense of our damage, and aid for our widows and orphans?"

Respuesta :

"He has today evening time earned a prominent place in the move of the supporter of our town; and he is deserving of numerous perpetual songs...But why, O Individuals... why do I get all your fault? For what blame am i to be removed? Who excited the mythical serpent from his sleep, I may inquire? Who abstained of us rich endowments and abundant help, and persuaded that old melodies could work out as expected? What kind of gold have they sent down the waterway to reward us? Winged serpent fire and destroy! From whom would it be advisable for us to guarantee the reward of our harm, and help for our dowagers and vagrants?"
