Based on this excerpt from "The Gift of the Magi" by O. Henry, what can you infer about the characters Jim and Della?

they love each other and the would give up there most prized items up
Jim and Della both really love each other and sacrifice something that is very important to them (Della sacrifices her long hair and Jim sacrifices his golden watch) just so they could give each other a present for Christmas.
