Providing rights to the accused is very important. If someone didn't know their rights, or didn't have any, they could end up in jail  for a crime they did not commit. It could ruin their live. I think the most important right is the right to a lawyer. Most people that are falsely accused know they did nothing wrong, but they can't prove it and they don't know the legal matters. With a lawyer, they can be helped set things straight and live their lives normally.
