In the very popular Hunger Games books, Katniss Everdeen was known for her iconic mockingjay pin which was made of gold. She got this pin from Madge who was the daughter of the mayor of District 12.

The pin was special to Madge as it belonged to an aunt of hers who had died representing district 12 in a previous edition of the Hunger games. With Madge missing in the movie adaptation however, Katniss got the pin from the black market.
