Focus on the main key words that stand out to you and mainly explain what is happening. Highlight those words and try to learn them. Also, flash cards make seeing certain words engage your brain into thinking of a sentence to go along with that. Start by looking at the key words and try to remember those. Then try to remember what tense and practice the pronunciation (if it's an oral exam).
